Bandcamp

Younger people aren’t paying as much for music anymore, and it has put the music industry in a difficult position. With younger generations relying heavily on streaming services, many smaller artists are finding it more difficult than ever to succeed in this industry.

Bandcamp is a site built with both artists and fans in mind. Artists can self release their work and have it all available in one place, along with their merch and links to tickets. Artists can set their prices, but fans also have the option to pay more than the set price.

Fans can leave comments for their favorite artists to see, and the front page is always full of new featured content, such as “New and Notable” posts and an “Album of the Day,” making Bandcamp a wonderful place for music discovery, and a flourishing online community all on its own.

This campaign concept is designed to highlight the benefits of using Bandcamp. The “Vinyl Vending Machine” experiential marketing concept is designed to intrigue people who may not already be familiar with Bandcamp. In a sense, it makes the Bandcamp music discovery experience physical. With the recent resurgence of vinyl, the “Vinyl Vending Machine” gives people the opportunity to have a shareable and memorable hands-on experience.
